A few days ago I was in a meeting with a few of the teenage girls in our church. One of the girls offered a prayer before the meeting began.

In the prayer she took a moment to thank Heavenly Father for our trials, because through them we are able to become closer to Him.

As I had just been going through my own trial that week - I was immediately humbled by her offering of gratitude.

I have definitely thanked the Lord for taking me through my trials, and for getting me to the light at the end of the tunnel. But I have never thanked Him for allowing me to experience the trial in the first place.

The truth is, I have never experienced a trial that I faced with faith that didn’t in turn give me a deeper love, respect, and deeper conversion of and for Jesus Christ.

There is a divine spirit within each of us - that spirit desires to become something better. And thanks be to God that He allows our path following Jesus Christ to get us there 🫶🏼
