Every year for Easter I create a new pice to share on Easter Sunday. The most important day of the year.

When I think of the Resurrection, I picture joy and light, but I also think of Christ gazing upward after enduring every pain and burden for us: the agonies of Gethsemane, the weight of our sins on the cross, and even the silence of the tomb. Everything He did, including rising from the grave, was to glorify the Father.

That’s what I wanted to symbolize in this piece. Not just that He lives, but that His triumph over suffering, sin, and death itself points us all back to our loving Heavenly Father.

He didn’t rise for praise. He rose in love, in obedience, in glory to the Father.
And because of Him, we can rise too.
