We all inevitably carry crosses in this life.
The weight, the burden, the sacrifice tied to them can feel incredibly heavy and, at times, deeply painful.

But because Christ overcame the cross, so can we.

In this painting, I imagine His reflection as He remembers all that He had to endure, at the very place where His suffering was finished. The place that represents the deepest pain, but also, the greatest love. It mirrors the moments in our own lives that feel the darkest, the heaviest, the most impossible to understand.

And still… because of Him, we do not carry our crosses alone.

This painting is a reminder that even in the places that feel like endings, the times when we feel the most forsaken and forgotten, the times that we question how much more we can take - we are not alone. That one day, we will be able to look back and see His goodness through it all. That our darkest places, and our hardest days, can become sacred ground.

With Him, and because of Him, we too can overcome the cross.
